Meet Sonia
With the aim to help you manage life’s challenges with self-compassion and self-kindness, your counselling journey with Sonia will be trauma-informed and strengths-based. Tailoring her approach around your needs, Sonia creates an environment in which you can feel safe, supported and validated. As an experienced trauma-sensitive yoga and mindfulness teacher she often incorporates somatic therapy tools and interventions in her counselling sessions to establish an emotionally supportive base to support you in regulating your nervous system.
Experienced in both individual and group therapy, Sonia draws on a range of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion based therapies.
Sonia works with both adults and adolescents, specialising in trauma, PTSD and C-PTSD, domestic and family violence, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, difficulties with boundaries, family estrangement, emotional regulation and shame. Supporting her clients with communication and interpersonal relationships is a special interest of hers.
